GAME DESCRIPTION
NASCAR 3 in Christmas '98
Sierra announced today that its popular stock car racing series will be followed by a sequel in Christmas '98. NASCAR 3 will sport an "entirely new" physics model, Internet play, more custom options, improved artificial intelligence, and all of the 1998 season teams, drivers and tracks.

Some info I received in an email from Lynn Crane:
"In your news section you stated that you had been lead to believe they are the same product.I know for a fact that they are not the same product.They are both produced by Sierra/Papyrus,but Nascar 99 is an updated Nascar2.It has the truck series added with a new physics model for them,and the truck tracks.It also has the Busch andWinston Cup series.It has native 3dfx and Rendition support also.Nascar3 on the other hand is a completely new game with a new graphics engine a new physics engine(basically the same graphics engine as GPL)a new paint kit a new garage with new setup options new menus throughout the game double file restarts new multiplayer the ability to drive your car behind the wall for repairs and other added features.The page where I got this information is currently down,but I can confidently tell you that I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are different.For proof,although they don't have Nascar 3 on the Sierra page yet at the main page where it says Sierra Brands over onthe left,go down to Sierra Sports.A column of games should appear to the right.It will have Nascar 3 at the top five games below that it has Nascar Racing 1999 Edition so it is not the same.Sorry for the long in depth letter but I wanted to make sure it was clear that they were not the same thing.By the way Nascar 99 is already out N3 is due out Q2 99.See ya."
