You drive the city every day and think you know it pretty well, but do you really know all the shortcuts? All the twists and turns that separate commuters from the life-on-the-edge never-say-die first-one-to-the-finish out-of-my-way Outlaw Racer!! Now it's time to cross that line, to put your money where your mouth is and get in the toughest race of your life. No pit crews, no closed circuit tracks, no adoring fans in the grandstands, not today buddy old pal, today you are in the unsanctioned Mother of all road rallies. Each stage pits you against other racers, where driving faster than the other guy is only the start of your worries. You have to avoid random police patrols, road blocks, pedestrians, oncoming trains, construction work and worst of all - traffic jams. The rules of each city apply to all racers, get caught speeding and your tickets will be deducted from your prize money. Fail to stop for the law, your risk going to jail if you're apprehended. By being courageous, clever, daring and a little bit crazy you will be able to outwit and outdrive your most dangerous opponents making you truly one of the Outlaw Racerstm. If you show the intestinal fortitude it will take to finish first, your prize money can then be converted into power upgrades, you can celebrate by trying to outrun the Constables on the Superhighways that connect the different cities. So there it is, if you're up to the task, all that's left is for you to walk out of city hall, throw away those 200 speeding tickets, hand pick your high performance especially designed custom war wagon and pick up the gauntlet!!! You are in the Race!!!
With 8 Custom hybrid road race cars to choose from, win a stage and gain valuable cash prize money to purchase such upgrades as turbo and nitrous oxide systems, transmission and tire performance enhancements. You will need them if you're going to dominate on the Superhighways.
Outlaw Racerstm is a Windows 95, 32-bit application which supports multi-player internet play. It boasts incredible 3D graphics as well as integrated sound effects and a choice of hard driving musical soundtracks.
