ROADKILL 2050

GAME DESCRIPTION

(From  Dream Fusion)

"The year is 2050.  The heralded Roadkill Tournament is about to begin again and the world is glued to Death TV to see all the action.

As the race commences, the crowd gets to see three beautiful kills right off the bat.  They go crazy with excitement as the participants race around the track, their cars armed with lazers and missiles.  They race frantically to get to finish line with their lives, and they know it is going to take speed and muscle to get them there.

The racers do not only race for money and fame, they race for their lives.  Tick off a member of the crowd who has a huge bet riding, and they may start taking shots with one of the cannons set up around the stands.  So far the audience is pleased for the most part, having seen 7 horrific kills in all..but that was only the first round.

Now its round two, and you are in the drivers seat of one of these high-tech racers.  Do you have what it takes to stay alive and make your opponents RoadKill?

When you start up this pre-alpha version, you begin round 2 of the tournament.  Your job is to stay on the track and blast your opponents.  You have 4 laps to prove if your worth the crowd's admiration, and just staying on the track may prove harder than you think.

The game is stunningly done in bright colors and a futuristic looking back drop.  At the speed at which you tear around the track, it's hard to see anything but a blur of the stadium around you.  The game play physics make  for quite a bit of time to pull off stunts during the big jumps, and I do mean big.

There are several cars to choose from, each with it's own strengths and weaknesses.  You start the race with simple Lazarus and have to pick up the bigger weapons as you go along.  You can also pick up shields and armor to help keep you alive.

Vision software have packed in numerous ways to achieve your kills as well, including Kill zones, mine fields, player controlled ramps and walls, and rows upon rows of spikes.  If you get to banged up you can stop in for a pitstop where mech-droids will repair your machine and get you back in the race feeling better than new.

The final version of the game should have at least 12 circuits to race on and will include special skill sequences, jackpots, sub-games, short cuts, multiplay, and a few other bells and whistles to keep your heart pounding. The current pre-alpha runs under 3Dfx Glide.
