ROAD RASH 3D

GAME DESCRIPTION

(From Gamecenter)

Cycle racers rejoice! Electronic Arts, the maker of Road Rash, will soon be releasing Road Rash 3D--and Gamecenter wanted its readers to be the first to hear the news.

Using a new 3D engine, EA promises players a totally different experience of combat motorcycle racing. Glimpse panoramic vistas of the road while biking in a 3D world. As you ride, you'll also have to deal with realistic road conditions and aggressive competition from other bikers.

In addition, Road Rash 3D will have three game modes for the virtual racer: Time Trials, in which multiple players compete for the best time; Thrash, the arcade mode; and the Big Game, in which players battle rival racing gangs for the championship. Similar to enemies in a world-building strategy game, these gangs--the Desades, Dewleys, Kaffe Boys, and Techgeists--have different bikes, weapons, and preferred racing terrains, as well as individualized AI, which provides them with unique personalities and fighting styles.

A digitized soundtrack will set the tone for each race. Players will be able to take advantage of surround-sound effects to let them know where the other players are as they all race at top speed.

EA's original Road Rash is available for PC, PlayStation, Saturn, and 3DO multiplayer, but Road Rash 3D--slated for a March '98 release--will be PlayStation only, and single-player. PC owners who want to play multiplayer will have to wait a few months more.
