Ok, so it's another arcade racer like so many that have come before, right? Well, there is one twist to Speedboat Attack -- this arcade racer takes place on water. A water course gives the old arcade racer a new twist but I found that it made me a bit seasick. The problem is that the courses are full of obstacles like whirlpools, floating mines, ramps, other boats and even jumping dolphins. Every time you swerve to avoid one of these obstacles or even bank to make a turn, the boats starts to rock up and down just like a -- well -- you know, like a real boat would. The seasickness effect is at its greatest from the "in cockpit viewpoint" but you can change to an "out of boat" view point that lessens the effects.

This update will replace the existing version of "Speedboat Attack" that is currently installed on your system. If you have the European version of the game, you are advised to uninstall it, BEFORE applying the upgrade. Users of the American version may proceed with the upgrade immediately.

Please note that both European & American users will still need to have their CD in their CD-ROM drives in order to play the game. This update will correct any problems encountered by users of the Voodoo 2 accelerator.

If you encounter any difficulties after installing the upgrade, Uninstall the program, re-install the original game then contact support through the appropriate link on the Speedboat Attack page.

A patch for the AMD K6-2 processor is available, this provides users of this processor with significant performance gains. The patch is 4.9 mb.
