(From Accolade's Press release)

"This latest release will feature 28 new licensed cars and 17 screamin' courses located throughout the world. Test Drive 5 will release exclusively for the PlayStation® game console in September. A version for personal computers will be available this holiday season.

Featuring a new 3D engine developed by driving game experts, Pitbull Syndicate, Test Drive 5 gives gamers a real world feeling of racing. MultiDynamic environment mapping recreates the look and feel of traveling under trees and bridges by adding multiple reflections and shadows to the vehicles. Branching technology is also included which allows multiple paths, off-course driving and short-cuts through streets and mountains. Plus, Test Drive 5 for the PlayStation will offer high resolution graphics, making it one of the few console racing games to offer 640 x 480 graphics running at more than 30 frames per second. New multiplayer capabilities will also be included in Test Drive 5. Six player races are available for the PC version via LAN, modem and Internet. Two new modes of split screen functionality are available in the PlayStation version, allowing exciting two player action.

Shipping this fall, Test Drive 5 will challenge 14 muscle cars from the past with 14 exotic supercars of the present, some of which include: Saleen Mustang, 1998 Ford Mustang, 1998 Dodge® Viper, 1998 Chevrolet® Corvette®, 1998 Aston Martin Vantage, 1998 TVR Cerbera, 1998 Jaguar XKR, 1997 Chevrolet Camaro® SS LT4, 1968 Ford Mustang, 1966 Shelby Cobra 427SC, 1967 Pontiac GTO, 1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL-1, 1969 Chevrolet Corvette ZL-1, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS LS-6, 1971 Plymouth® Hemi Cuda, and 1969 Dodge® Charger. Twelve other bonus cars will also be included.

Test Drive 5 lets you race in traffic with high-intensity police chases across exotic locations throughout the world, such as Moscow, Russia; Honolulu, Hawaii; Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina; Tokyo, Japan; Edinburgh, Scotland; Sydney, Australia; Munich, Germany; Keswick, England; Kyoto, Japan; San Francisco, California; Washington, D.C.; and Bern, Switzerland."
