"Start up your 4X4! It's time to race through ice, mud, boulders, water, sand, and lava with Test Drive: Off-Road 2, Accolade's sequel to the top selling off-road racer for the PlayStation® game console, Test Drive: Off-Road. Test Drive: Off-Road 2 will be available for both the PlayStation game console and personal computer this fall.

"Test Drive: Off-Road was number one in the off-road racing category last year," said Monte Singman, senior producer of Test Drive: Off-Road 2. "Test Drive: Off-Road 2 promises even more with an action packed game that lets users modify their licensed off-road vehicles and compete in real world locations."

The game features an exclusive license for the famous Hummer® from AM General and more than 10 other licensed off-road vehicles. Additional licensed cars include: the Land Rover Defender 90, Dodge® Ram V12 , Dodge® T-Rex, Ford Explorer, Saleen Explorer, Chenowth Desert Patrol Vehicle and Jeep® Wrangler.

With the addition this year of user-modifiable vehicles, gamers can create their dream off-roader. Each vehicle includes independent suspension and a realistic physics model. Players are able to adjust tires, suspension, brakes and gear ratio with authentic licensed parts for the ultimate in off-road mayhem.

Users choose from tracks in six real-world locations and drive over mountains, through deserts and across frozen tundras, grass lands and beaches. Each environment features breakable objects, providing for more interactive gameplay and a more immersive off-road experience. Players can smash through logs, fences, and brush as well as splash through mud and small rivers. Locations include a volcano track in Hawaii, the Santa Cruz Mountains in California, the frigid mountains of Mont Blanc, Switzerland and a swamp track in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Test Drive: Off-Road 2 features multiple racing modes including: time trials, single race competition and multiple-race league modes. Support for the Sony Dual Shock® analog controller allows gamers to feel every bump in the road and every tree smash off the windshield with the PlayStation version. The PC version includes multiplayer capabilities via the Internet, LAN or modem."
