GT Interactive: Announced they, Engineering Animation Inc. (EAI) and the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), will cooperate in the creation of a Trans-Am Racing simulation game. Scheduled for release on PC CD-ROM this summer, Trans-Am Racing will combines realistic engineering with 3D imagery. Every road track in the game, most of which have never been seen before in a racing simulation, will be period correct to meticulous detail, along with each of the classic muscle cars and their attributes. Drivers ca n get behind the wheel of such classics as the '68 Chevrolet Camaro, '70 Boss Mustang FB, '70 Pontiac Firebird, '66 Dodge Dart and '72 AMC Javelin."

"The entire game will be rendered with dazzling, 3D accelerated graphics. There will be a software mode, though people with AGP capability and a second generation 3D card will be in for a real visual treat. EAI is working hard to fill the game with a flourish of graphical touches, including specular highlighting, environment mapping, and particle effects like kicked up dust when cars drive off the track, smoke from tires when they lock up, and steam from radiators. "
